Abstract:

Exterior and interior views of Hayfield House in Saratoga, Calif., chiefly taken about 1970. Hayfield House was designed by Julia Morgan and built for Chauncey and Henriette Goodrich in 1920-1921. Eight photographs depict decorations in the house for the 1948 wedding of Gary J. Torre and the Goodrich's daughter, Caroline. Two photographs (signed "Greg and "GL", 1973) are of the head of the sculpture Athena, by Auguste Rodin, which was in the Goodrich or related Blanding family and survived the San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906.
